Nickerson a fine and experienced game shot, he built a world-famous partridge shoot at Rothwell in Lincolnshire and had the shooting of Wemmergill Moor in Teesdale for thirty-six seasons. There are also his reminiscences of grouse shooting, game shooting and wildfowling over 60 years.

A booklet for carrying in the pocket on shoot days the name of C.Hall. Market Place, Knaresborough printed on the front cover, Hall was a gunamaker until circa 1938
