First published in 1800 with 24 pages the 1801 second edition with additions, "A series of letters cataloguing cautions with regards to the double-barrelled flintlocks recently imported from France including factual examples of shooting disasters in the shooting field. This is the first book to warn of the dangers of shooting." Chute 220 notes he is yet to see a first edition, Schwerdt vol 1 -187. A rare title in any edition.

"Freeman was a game farmer extraordinary as the 7-page testimonials demonstrate. This is a glorified sales brochure for which he charged two shillings and sixpence" chute222.Quite scarce only one copy located in UK libraries at the British Library.

This collection of 770 cased British birds were all mounted by T.E.Gunn the Norwich taxidermist. F.M.Ogilvie made and catalogued the collection which was presented to Ipswich museum in 1918.
