The first 5 volume have an engraved title with Walton cartouche and volume number. The plates of various subjects including portraits views etc many of angling , sporting, fish and river related. Including 8 coloured engraved prints of various fish with a river, angling background with printed titles no imprint 4 comical angling watercolours circa 1820 in the style of Robert Frankland. 8 coloured lithographs drawn on stone by J Hitchens of angling resorts round London published by W.J Huggins marine publishers 105 Leadernhall Street, 7 in similar style by C. Bigot no imprint other than the address "3 Ball Alley Lombard St". A four-page strip panorama 2 strips to the page showing hunting shooting and angling scenes with fine contemporary colouring. Many coloured views of river scenes where an angler or anglers have been neatly added to the scene. Includes sporting engravings by Barlow Howlett Seymour Alken etc. Bound in a circa 1860s in a full red morroco by Eedy Binder 257 Tavistock St, some darkening to spine with light rubbing to edges. Tipped onto verso of the FEP of Vol 1 a hand written note describing the set and stating, from the library of Frederic Ouvry. Ouvry's Library was sold by Sotheby's in 1882 The Walton being lot 1460 described as very tastefully and extensively illustrated with rare portraits, views, plates of fish birds, insects, fishing and sporting subjects etc. Bound in a circa 1860s in a full red morroco by Eedy Binder 257 Tavistock St, some darkening to spine with light rubbing to edges.
