Summary: xii 378 pages, illus with 88 fine woodcuts, including full page plates, 4 being of tackle, also a folding plan of the river Lea. Armorial bookplate of Sir Robert Shafto Adair, and Alfred C Harmsworth partly covering the previous plate to the front paste down, some occasional spotting to the contents. Bound in the original paper covered boards printed in green, dust soiled, the front joint cracked and holding on ties, unusual to find in the original state. The contents are in 3 parts, part 1 Bottom fishing, part 2 trolling, part 3 fly-fishing. The woodcuts are particularly illustrative of the time.
