iv 89 pahes, illustrated with two mounted albumen photographs: frontispiece of "The Author," and "Anglers at the Bull Inn, Fairford"; plus 2 lithograph plates of angling-associated buildings "The Peacock Rowsley Derbyshire and Cottons Fishing House" and 2 other plates a fly-tying vice, and Ogden's basket and folding landing net. On the page before the Peacock plate a pencil note to the blank margin relating to it as a stopping of place. Publishers' brown cloth gilt title to the upper cover within black border and leaf vignettes, leather spine label a very good + clean copy of the first edition so often found without the errata slip which comes between the frontis and title page.. Includes advice on fly tying and tackle much of which Ogden invented, Westwood & Satchell, p. 161.
