Armorial bookplate of L.de Rothchild to the front paste down. Publishers red cloth gilt title to the upper cover the spine with gilt title and Jaguar vignette on a pedestal to the spine. A near fine copy the cloth clean and bright with no defects. Roosevelt's 'zoogeographic reconnaissance' with the Brazilian explorer Rondon to discover if the Rio da D?vida ('River of Doubt'), flowed into the Amazon. Traversing some of the most dangerous territory of Amazon, the travellers observed wildlife, and had some big game hunting, for Jaguar, deer, tapir, capybara etc. Published the same year as the American edition.
