Large 8vo finely illustrated with colour photographs throughout showing the guns in detail, old prints, and documents etc. Publishers red cloth with gilt title to the upper cover in DJ, a fine + copy. Limited to 200 copies this being number 45 with a presentation note signed "James (the author)" also a loose compliment slip from Jackson. The author originally worked at H.M Tower of London where he received training to become the Queens Armourer a position he held for nearly 45 years. "Little is known about the London Gunmaker Richard Fenton, but it is agreed made particularly good flintlock firearms in a distinctive style that is easily recognized". The author has discovered considerable new information on the Fenton's guns and their history.
