Summary: 141 pages, illustrated with 22 photographs and 4 diagrams + xxxviii appendixes, rear blank end paper torn with loss. Recased in the original emerald, blue card covers printed title in black to upper cover with spine relayed some chipping to bottom of the spine crease mark to lower outer corner and the first few pages. Crum a veteran of the Boer War, an ardent supporter of the use of sniping returned to soldering in 1915 and going to France he recounts his experiences in 1916. He was invited by General Skinner to join his staff of the 41st Brigade to run the snipers and intelligence unit, later starting a brigade school for sniping. A keen supporter of the boy scout movement the 38page appendix, Appendix I relates a lecture on scouting to 150 officers at Aldershot "During the next few days is to bring it about that more Bosches maybe killed and more of good fellows spared", Appendix II Final results of experience 1918 with course syllabus. Appendix III works with boy scouts July 1918 to July 1919. A scarce booklet and more so in the original card covers.
