Illustrated with 40 full page plates and, numerous illustrations in the text reproduced from the drawings by the author, the title page printed in red and black. Recently finely bound in a half dark green morroco spine gilt double ruled to compartments cloth side with the large gilt vignette of a stag and dog in a mountain scene used in the original binding relayed on the front board. A very good copy of the most important and beautifully produced book on Scottish stalking. Crealock describes the natural history, the abuse of deerhounds, red deer, the horns, stalking, the stalking grounds etc. And relates stories of twenty-two years of deer stalking on the deer forests of Scotland. A book often found in poor condition due to its size and weight with the plates often foxed.
