Uneven fading and marking to the cloth, the binding and contents tight with no chips or splits. Chapters on fashion in game guns and their loads, the advantages of good guns etc. In 1878 the firm of Lancaster was take over by Henry. A. A. Thorn. Thorn, interestingly, styled himself 'Charles Lancaster' for business purposes and even used Lancaster's name when writing on the subject of guns and shooting.
