174, ix 190 pages, top edge gilt small 4to, bound with The Red Deer of Langwell and Braemore 1880-1934, with a brief account of the flora of Caithness 1935. Both volumes have numerous photographs, 2 folding maps, to the first part 5 tipped in colour plates by W. Eggington, to the second part with numerous photographs of deer heads with accompanying details on size where and when etc the publishers edition of this title (Blackie and Son) the colour plates are on thick paper, the flora of Caithness is part of the book rather than loose as in the Blackie edition. Bold pencil inscription to front end paper, "From Portland 1937 two books bound in one volume". Blue cloth binding gilt title to upper board. Some surface rubbing to the cloth on the rear board Both volumes were originally published separately. I believe this is one of a limited number of copies which were for the family and presentation, no copy of this edition in any of the holding UK libraries.
