Original full tan calf boards, later matching spine, some light rubbing to corners on the board. Denham and Clapperton and Dr Walter Oudney traveled from Benioleed to lake Tchad to Sokota, failing to ascertaion the source of the Niger. Denham spent time exploring Lake Tchad, Clapperton journeys westwards to the Niger in January 1824, Oudney died and was buried by his friends at Murmur. Clapperton journey's alone to Knao and Sokota , in May he started his return and was rejoined by Denham at Kula reaching Tripoli in January 1825.
