Sir Francis Chantrey a sculptor shut two woodcocks with 1 shot at Holkham, Norfolk on November 20 1829. It was sufficiently well regarded to merit this delightful anthology of verse on the subject. A monument to the 2 woodcock was presented to W.Coke of Holkham in 1834. An etching of the monument is used as the frontis and part for the gilt vignette to the upper cover. A scarce title and more so in this condition. Chute 461
